This virtual gallery is dedicated to the artwork of Jules-Joseph Lefebvre (1836 - 1911), one of the leading artists of late 19th century French Academic Classicism. He was renowned for his fine portraits and nudes, and went on to become a much respected teacher at the Academie Julien.
